Minister of Energy and Mineral\nResources, Bahlil Lahadalia, stressed that the government currently has\nno plans to raise the price of state-subsidised energy. He conveyed this\nto allay public concerns amid adjustments to the prices of several\nnon-subsidised energy products. \u201cWe are stating that the prices of\nsubsidised fuel and LPG have not changed at all. That is the main\npoint,\u201d Bahlil told the media at the Presidential Palace on Thursday.\nBahlil explained there is a policy difference between subsidised and\nnon-subsidised products. For non-subsidised fuel, prices will continue\nto be adjusted according to market mechanisms and global price\ndevelopments. However, he assured that the calculation process is being\nconducted wisely by business entities, including PT Pertamina (Persero)\nand private parties. Regarding the impact of non-subsidised price\nfluctuations, Bahlil mentioned the government is currently formulating\nvarious policy instruments to ensure public consumption is maintained.\nKeeping subsidised prices unchanged is the main instrument for\nprotecting vulnerable communities. \u201cThe government is formulating\nmatters related to protecting public purchasing power.
