The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, has guaranteed that the prices of subsidised fuels, including Pertalite and Solar, will remain unchanged until December 2026. While non-subsidised fuel prices have seen adjustments due to global market fluctuations, the government is working to refine data to ensure subsidies reach the intended low-income recipients.

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil
Lahadalia, has guaranteed that the selling prices of subsidised fuel,
such as Pertalite (RON 90) and subsidised Solar, will not experience any
increases until the end of 2026.

Bahlil stated that the government continues to monitor global market
developments resulting from ongoing geopolitical conflicts. However, he
emphasised that the prices of subsidised fuel will be maintained until
December 2026. “Whatever happens, I am conveying that the price of oil
or specifically subsidised fuel prices will not be increased until
December 2026, while we observe global developments,” Bahlil asserted
when met at the DPR RI Building in Jakarta.

Furthermore, Bahlil did not deny the price disparity between
non-subsidised fuel, such as Pertamax (RON 92), and subsidised fuel,
which has led the public to switch to the much cheaper Pertalite. His
department is currently calculating the projected increase in Pertalite
consumption due to this shift from non-subsidised fuel users. “We are
still calculating the potential excess. It is true that when global fuel
prices rise, some users of RON 92 move to RON 90, causing an increase,
but we are currently calculating that increase,” he explained.

In contrast to the mechanism for subsidised fuel, Bahlil noted that
the pricing of non-subsidised fuel will continue to follow market
developments. This means that non-subsidised fuel prices, including the
Pertamax series and diesel types, will follow global price fluctuations.
“However, for non-subsidised fuel, we will leave it to the market price;
we will make adjustments based on the existing dynamics,” he added.

Despite acknowledging the shift in consumption towards subsidised
fuel, the government continues to push plans to tighten Pertalite usage.
Bahlil did not rule out the fact that subsidised fuel should only be
consumed by the economically disadvantaged. Currently, the government is
refining the data of citizens entitled to purchase subsidised fuel
through decile categorisation. “This is still being exercised because we
want the subsidy to be targeted correctly. One way to ensure this is to
have valid data. We are continuously checking the deciles to ensure that
our good intentions are not undermined by invalid data in
implementation,” he concluded.

Regarding Pertamina’s fuel prices as of 1 September 2026, PT
Pertamina (Persero), through Pertamina Patra Niaga, officially
implemented price adjustments for several non-subsidised fuel products,
including Pertamax Turbo, Pertamina Dex, and Dexlite, effective from
00:00 WIB on 1 September 2026.

Among those that increased was the RON 98 type, Pertamax Turbo, which
rose to Rp 19,600 per litre from the previous Rp 18,300 per litre.
Dexlite increased to Rp 23,700 per litre from Rp 19,700, and Pertamina
Dex rose to Rp 25,200 per litre from Rp 21,150 per litre. Meanwhile, the
prices for Pertamax and Pertamax Green 95 remained the same as the
prices sold in August 2026, and the prices for Pertalite and subsidised
Solar also remained unchanged.

VP of Corporate Communication at Pertamina Patra Niaga, Kitty
Andhora, stated that the price adjustment was carried out based on the
formula set by the government, considering several indicators, including
global crude oil prices, the Rupiah exchange rate, taxes, and other
relevant factors, including the purchasing power of the users. “The
adjustment was applied only to certain non-subsidised products… while
other non-subsidised products like Pertamax 92 and Pertamax Green 95 did
not undergo price adjustments. This was done by considering economic
viability, purchasing power, and the social conditions of the
community,” Kitty explained in a press release.

Furthermore, Kitty emphasised that these price adjustments do not
change Pertamina Patra Niaga’s commitment to maintaining product quality
and providing the best service to consumers. Pertamina Patra Niaga also
urged the public to purchase fuel according to their needs and use
products that match their vehicle specifications to ensure targeted
usage.

Detailed Pertamina fuel prices as of 1 September 2026 are as
follows:

Pertalite: Rp 10,000 per litre

Pertamax: Rp 15,950 per litre

Pertamax Green: Rp 16,600 per litre

Pertamax Turbo: Rp 19,600 per litre

Subsidised Solar (biosolar): Rp 6,800 per litre

Dexlite: Rp 23,700 per litre

Pertamina Dex: Rp 25,200 per litre
",
