        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2013 Indonesia\u2019s Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil\nLahadalia has assured the public that national fuel oil (BBM) reserves\nremain secure for the next 20 days. The statement was made ahead of a\nmeeting with President Prabowo Subianto to discuss oil supply concerns\nfollowing the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReserves are still sufficient for 20 days,\u201d Bahlil told journalists\nat the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta on Monday, 2 March\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>Bahlil confirmed that the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict and the\nStrait of Hormuz closure have not yet affected subsidised fuel supplies.\nHowever, he acknowledged that global oil price corrections are\ninevitable as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East continue to\nescalate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo date there have been no problems, but world prices will certainly\nexperience correction when geopolitical conditions continue to heat up\nin the Middle East,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Bahlil further announced that his ministry would convene a meeting\nwith the National Energy Council (DEN) to assess oil supply implications\narising from the Middle Eastern conflict.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTomorrow I will meet with the National Energy Council, and after\nthat I will present the analysis and findings from DEN,\u201d Bahlil\nconcluded.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier reports indicated that Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard\nCorps (IRGC) deployed forces to close the Strait of Hormuz amid\nheightened tensions in the Middle East, according to IRGC Brigadier\nGeneral Ibrahim Jabari on Saturday, 28 February 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe closure of the Strait of Hormuz by IRGC forces is currently\nbeing implemented following aggression against Iran,\u201d Jabari told\nbroadcaster Al-Mayadeen.<\/p>\n<p>Previously that day, the United States and Israel launched a series\nof attacks against Iranian targets, including Tehran, causing\ninfrastructure damage and civilian casualties. In response, Iran\nlaunched missile strikes against Israeli territory and targeted American\nmilitary infrastructure in the Middle East. An IRGC representative\nstated that Israel had \u201cmiscalculated\u201d in attacking Iran.<\/p>",
