        "content": "<p>A total of 210 Buddhist households in Badung Regency received a Rp2\nmillion holiday allowance per family ahead of Waisak 2570 BE, to be\ncelebrated on 31 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa cautioned recipients not to use the\naid for negative purposes such as online gambling. \u2018I hope this aid is\nproperly directed and utilised effectively. It must not be misused,\nespecially for online gambling,\u2019 he said during the Waisak holiday aid\ndistribution event at Vihara Dharmayana in Kuta, Badung, on Thursday, 28\nMay 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Arnawa stated the aid was provided to assist residents facing rising\ncosts before the holiday, often due to inflation. \u2018Hence, we provide\nthis holiday assistance to counter the usual price increases attributed\nto inflation. Our aim is to support those in genuine need,\u2019 he\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Arnawa noted the initiative contributes to maintaining\nreligious harmony in Badung. He stressed that high community tolerance\nis vital for sustaining Bali\u2019s tourism. \u2018This is also an indicator of\nhow we preserve sustainable tourism. I have no hesitation in\nimplementing policies to provide community assistance,\u2019 he\nexplained.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Badung Regency Social Affairs Head I Gde Eka Sudarwitha\nstated the total Buddhist religious holiday aid distributed amounted to\nRp420 million. \u2018All funds allocated for the Buddhist religious holiday\naid total Rp420 million,\u2019 he added in his remarks.<\/p>\n<p>Each household with income below Rp5 million received a Rp2 million\nholiday aid. The aid was distributed to 210 Buddhist households across\nsix districts: Abiansemal (11 households), Kuta (62), South Kuta (45),\nNorth Kuta (45), Mengwi (40), and Petang (7).<\/p>",
