The Badung Regency Government (Pemkab) plans to add an all-terrain\nvehicle (ATV) adventure facility in the Badung Agro Techno Park (ATP)\narea, Belok Sidan Village, Petang District. This new facility is\ndesigned as the embryo of an agro-tourism destination in the northern\nregion to preserve agricultural land while meeting food needs.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are several areas we will improve so that it truly becomes a\ndestination. So people come not only to see the coffee and the view, but\nalso to enjoy the ATV destination here,\u201d said Badung Regent I Wayan Adi\nArnawa on Friday (19\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n
Adi Arnawa acknowledged he had reviewed the current condition of the\nintegrated coffee farming area built during the tenure of the previous\nregent, I Nyoman Giri Prasta. In addition to coffee development,\ndemonstration plots of shallots and garlic have been planted there,\nalong with red-picked coffee harvesting. He has mapped out an increase\nin ATP\u2019s capacity while also aiming to revive a quality coffee centre in\nBadung.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is one of the educational steps to motivate the community to\ncontinue farming, because farmers have good prospects. Moreover, Badung\nhas a very strategic market with the existence of the tourism industry,\u201d\nAdi Arnawa added.<\/p>\n
Besides monitoring cultivation, Adi Arnawa evaluated the entire\ntechnical process from seeding, planting, to harvest time in the area.\nThe Badung Regency Government is also preparing appropriate trading\narrangements so that the food commodities produced have a clear\ndistribution flow going forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cUltimately, it is all in the context of controlling inflation in\nBadung. If coffee here is right, for other food commodities, such as\nshallots and garlic, we will create special centres elsewhere,\u201d said Adi\nArnawa.<\/p>\n
The ATP area, which has a land area of 14.87 hectares, was\nspecifically established by the regional government as a centre for the\napplication of agricultural technology. To date, the main commodity\ndeveloped at the location is arabica coffee by applying Good Agriculture\nPractice (GAP) principles.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the efforts to apply technology in coffee cultivation is our\ncooperation with the Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Centre from\n2023 to 2025, covering technical assistance and coffee processing. In\naddition, the Badung Agro Techno Park area implements the SIDUTA (Siswa\nEdukasi Wisata) programme so that students can learn about coffee\ncultivation,\u201d explained the Head of the Badung Regency Food and\nAgriculture Service, AA Ngurah Raka Sukadana.<\/p>\n
The educational programme is now running continuously to introduce\nthe agricultural sector to the younger generation. A number of\neducational institutions ranging from junior high schools, senior high\nschools, to universities have been recorded visiting the location.<\/p>\n
Agung Raka previously stated that he deliberately has not promoted\ntourism because the focus remains on maintaining ATP as a centre for\nagricultural education. The site more often receives visits from\ngovernment agencies, community organisations, and educational\ninstitutions that want to study the coffee production chain in\ndepth.<\/p>\n
\u201cAgencies and educational institutions that come here have a pure\norientation to learn about Arabica coffee cultivation from upstream to\ndownstream. There is also a new official Regional Technical\nImplementation Unit (UPTD) there, whose head we have appointed and who\nbegan serving as of 1 March 2026,\u201d said Raka.<\/p>\n
The application of agricultural technology in this area includes the\nselection of superior seeds, spacing arrangements, management of\nprotective plants, irrigation systems, and post-harvest handling.
