        "content": "<p>Bad timing for blackouts<\/p>\n<p>JAMBI, Jambi: Frequent blackouts have affected the way people<br>\nobserve the Ramadhan fasting month, because they come either<br>\nbefore the breaking of the fast or during the evening when many<br>\nMoslems are performing the taraweh (evening) prayers.<\/p>\n<p>Warasdi, head of the Indonesian Consumer Foundation&apos;s local<br>\noffice, said many people who became fed up with the blackouts<br>\nbefore the breaking of the fast unintentionally swore, which<br>\ntechnically annuls their fast, Antara reported.<\/p>\n<p>Blackouts during taraweh also put people off taking part in<br>\nthe mass evening prayers at mosques, he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said he has conveyed the complaint to the authorities.<\/p>\n<p>The Jambi branch of PLN, the state electricity company, stated<br>\nthe blackouts were occurring because two diesel plants are<br>\nrepeatedly breaking down.
