The policy\nneeds to be discussed first with Commission XI of the Indonesian House\nof Representatives (DPR).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot yet. I am still going to face the DPR first for discussions,\u201d\nsaid Purbaya at the DPR Building on Thursday (4\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The excise policy was initially Purbaya\u2019s approach to legalise\ndomestic illicit cigarettes, thereby increasing state revenue.\nInformally, Purbaya has already spoken with legislators.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have talked behind the scenes, but officially, not yet. The\nofficial one hasn\u2019t happened. But behind-the-scenes talks have already\ntaken place,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>The draft regulation, according to Purbaya, has been prepared.
