Awair to resume operation<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Indonesia's domestic airline company, Awair, is
\nplanning to resume operations in August with six narrow-bodied
\nairplanes, its spokesman, Arifin Hutabarat, said here Saturday.<\/p>\n
Awair suspended its operations last March when it returned its
\nthree airplanes to its leasing company, Singapore's Region.<\/p>\n
\"Awair will lease two airplanes each month from June to
\nAugust. After the company completes its restructurization, it
\ncould operate again with six airplanes,\" Arifin said.<\/p>\n
The six airplanes will be used to serve routes to Jakarta,
\nSurabaya (East Java), Medan (North Sumatra), Denpasar (Bali) and
\nsome small cities in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
\"Actually, Awair is ready to operate with only two airplanes.
\nBut with the tight competition, we decided to operate with at
\nleast five or six airplanes,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Before it suspended its operations, Awair was using two wide-
\nbodied Airbus A-310s and one Airbus A-320.<\/p>\n
\"The three airplanes had been returned to the leasing company,
\nSingapore's Region. Awair is currently negotiating with some
