        "content": "<p>AWAIR to launch three new routes<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: AWAIR, a local unit of Malaysian budget carrier<br>\nAirAsia, said on Wednesday it would launch three new routes on<br>\nSunday.<\/p>\n<p>\"We are proud of our rapid business growth in responding to<br>\nhigh demand from the Indonesian people,\" president Sendjaja<br>\nWidjaja said in a statement. \"After just one month, AWAIR will<br>\nadd three new routes.\"<\/p>\n<p>The carrier will employ its second aircraft, a 148-seat Boeing<br>\n737-300, to service the new routes.<\/p>\n<p>The new aircraft will serve two domestic routes from Jakarta<br>\nto Surabaya and from Jakarta to Denpasar on the resort island of<br>\nBali. It will also offer an international service between Jakarta<br>\nand Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>AWAIR was re-launched on Dec. 8, when AirAsia entered the<br>\nIndonesian domestic aviation market, after succumbing to intense<br>\ncompetition in 2002.<\/p>\n<p>AirAsia has said its expansion into Indonesia has put it on<br>\ntrack to becoming a region-wide player. -- AFP<\/p>",
