Author needs blood<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Noted film director, playwright and author,
\nArifin Chairin Noer, is undergoing treatment at Medistra Hospital
\non Jl. Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta.<\/p>\n
He has been treated there for the malfunctioning of his liver
\nsince May 23.<\/p>\n
\"The doctor said that Arifin is badly in need of AB type blood
\nbecause of the bleeding in his abdomen,\" Jajang Pamuncak,
\nArifin's wife, told The Jakarta Post by phone on yesterday.<\/p>\n
\"Many people have donated their blood. We will greatly
\nappreciate it if there are others, who intend to do the same,\"
\nsaid Jajang, who was at the hospital with Arifin.<\/p>\n
Arifin had an operation to correct a liver problem at
\nGleneeagles Hospital in Singapore at the beginning of this month.
\nBut because he has experienced atrophy of the liver since that
\ntime, he entered Medistra Hospital last Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\"It is difficult to predict when he will recover, but we will
\ncare for him. It really depends on his stamina,\" Jajang said.<\/p>\n
Aru Sudoyo, the specialist in charge of Arifin's treatment,
\nwas not available for comment.<\/p>\n
Jajang said that visitors are welcome between 10 a.m. and 11
\na.m. and 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. (31)<\/p>",
