Australian team in expo<\/p>\n
SYDNEY (AFP): Australia is sending its biggest ever team of
\nmining suppliers to an international exhibition in Jakarta this
\nmonth as part of its push for a bigger share of South-East Asia's
\nmining services market, officials said yesterday.<\/p>\n
More than 70 firms providing products and services to the
\nminers will be represented at the four-day International Mining
\nIndonesia Exhibition from Nov. 22, Australian Trade Commission
\nmining manager Geoff Spears told reporters here.<\/p>\n
The Austrade-organized stand will target visitors from South-
\nEast Asia, China and India, as well as Indonesian industry and
\ngovernment buyers attending the exhibition.<\/p>\n
\"Potentially, there are billions of dollars at stake among
\nprojects being considered by visitors to the exhibition,\" Spears
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
India alone plans to spend A$1.9 billion (US$1.5 billion) on
\nrehabilitating mines throughout the country, while China has
\nannounced plans to develop 16 new mines in the medium term,
\nSpears said.<\/p>",
