        "content": "<p>Aussie considers more aid<\/p>\n<p>CANBERRA (Reuters): Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said<br>\nyesterday Australia had done a great deal to help Indonesia in<br>\nits current crisis and would look at providing more aid if<br>\nrequired.<\/p>\n<p>But Downer said that given the aid already made available to<br>\nIndonesia through an International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout<br>\npackage and a World Bank humanitarian package, it was now very<br>\nimportant to restore confidence in the economy.<\/p>\n<p>\"Australia has done a great deal to help Indonesia at this<br>\ntime, and it's appropriate that we should do,\" Downer told<br>\nparliament.<\/p>\n<p>\"If there is to be further assistance needed, then naturally<br>\nenough we'll have a look at that, but let me say we will keep<br>\nthis matter under review,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Downer said Australia had already provided about A$50 million<br>\n(US$31 million) in humanitarian assistance above its normal aid<br>\nprogram for its northern neighbor.<\/p>\n<p>As well, it had helped with the IMF package and helped<br>\ncoordinate the World Bank aid.<\/p>",
