The facility would be used to launch<br>\nrockets to put satellites into space.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was made after government officials met with Asia<br>\nPacific Space Center (APSC) head David Kwon Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\"The proposed facility will not only signal Australia's re-<br>\nentry into the space industry, but will provide critical<br>\ndiversification -and jobs -in the local economy,\" Regional<br>\nServices Minister Ian Macdonald said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The money will go toward extending an airport runway so it can<br>\naccommodate large wide-bodied aircraft and new port and road<br>\nfacilities<\/p>",
