        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2013 The Attorney General\u2019s Office (Kejagung) has finally spoken\nout regarding the series of raids conducted by the National Police\u2019s\nCorruption Crime Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) together with the\nSpecial Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the\nJakarta Metropolitan Police in the investigation of several suspected\ncorruption and money laundering cases.<\/p>\n<p>The raids, which took place from Wednesday, 8 July 2026, until the\nearly hours of Thursday, drew public attention after investigators\nseized evidence of extraordinary value from a number of locations,\nincluding gold bars and cash amounting to hundreds of billions of\nrupiah.<\/p>\n<p>In response, the Head of the Attorney General\u2019s Office Legal\nInformation Centre (Kapuspenkum), Anang Supriatna, affirmed that the\ninstitution respects the legal process currently being carried out by\nthe police.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, we respect the entire ongoing investigative process in\naccordance with the prevailing laws and regulations,\u201d Anang said in a\nvideo statement provided to the media, quoted on Thursday, 9 July\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>Anang said that the Attorney General\u2019s Office is still awaiting the\nresults of the investigation conducted by National Police investigators,\nincluding regarding the objects searched, the evidence seized, and the\nparties linked to the cases.<\/p>\n<p>For this reason, he reminded the public not to rush to conclusions\nbased solely on information circulating in the media and social\nmedia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe urge the public not to build conclusions or opinions linking a\nperson or an institution to suspected criminal acts based solely on\ninformation developing in the mass media or on social media. Every law\nenforcement process must continue to uphold the principle of the\npresumption of innocence,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He also affirmed that Kejagung continues to support every law\nenforcement process carried out professionally, objectively,\ntransparently, and accountably by all law enforcement officials in\naccordance with their authority.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe that every law enforcement process is carried out based\non valid evidence and applicable legal mechanisms. We also urge the\npublic to seek official information from the law enforcement officials\nhandling the cases,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>As previously reported, the joint investigation conducted by\nKortastipidkor of the National Police together with the Special Criminal\nInvestigation Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police into\nseveral suspected corruption cases continues to develop.<\/p>",
