The Attorney General\u2019s Office (AGO) seized cash in US dollar\ndenominations during a search of the coal mining office of PT Asmin\nKoalindo Tuhup (AKT). The AGO stated that the seized money is equivalent\nto Rp 1 billion.<\/p>\n

Previously, Anang said that his office had searched 14 locations\nrelated to the alleged corruption case in the coal mining sector of PT\nAKT. From those searches, the AGO seized several pieces of evidence,\nincluding documents, vehicles, and heavy equipment.<\/p>\n
The searches were conducted in several regions, namely DKI Jakarta,\nWest Java, Central Kalimantan, and South Kalimantan.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom the results of the searches and seizures, several pieces of\nevidence have now been collected, including documents, electronic\nevidence tools, heavy equipment at the mining site, and vehicles,\u201d Anang\ntold reporters at the AGO Public Relations building in South Jakarta on\nMonday (30\/3).<\/p>\n
Of the total 14 locations searched, 10 were in the DKI Jakarta and\nWest Java areas. Those locations included offices of companies\naffiliated with the suspect, private residences, and homes of several\nwitnesses.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is the PT AKT office, the PT MCM office affiliated with PT AKT\nor suspect ST (Samin Tan), the residence of suspect ST, and several\nwitnesses,\u201d Anang detailed.<\/p>\n
Background of the Case<\/p>\n
In this case, Samin Tan is named as the beneficial owner of PT AKT, a\ncoal mining company that previously operated under a coal mining\nbusiness contract (PKP2B). However, the company\u2019s permit was revoked in\n2017.<\/p>\n
Despite the permit revocation, PT AKT is alleged to have continued\nillegal mining and coal sales activities until 2025. Furthermore, those\nactivities are suspected to have been carried out by violating permits\nand colluding with state officials responsible for supervision in the\nmining sector.<\/p>\n
