        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 The investigation team of the Attorney General\u2019s Office\n(Kejaksaan Agung) is questioning several witnesses in connection with\nalleged acts of corruption in the export of Palm Oil Mill Effluent\n(POME), also known as palm oil waste. One of those questioned is an\nofficial from Aceh Customs. Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, Director of\nInvestigations at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes\n(Jampidsus) at the Kejagung, said the questioning took place at the High\nProsecutor\u2019s Offices in Riau and North Sumatra. He stated that the\nexaminations followed a sequence of searches and seizures carried out by\ninvestigators over the past two weeks. \u201cThe examination was conducted on\nAan Sundari, Head of Intelligence at the Aceh Regional Office of the\nDirectorate General of Customs and Excise,\u201d Syarief said in a statement\non Thursday, 5 March 2026. In addition, investigators questioned Martini\nfrom PT Tanimas, who acted as the signatory for a cooperation agreement.\n\u201cThe witnesses were questioned in relation to the sale of crude palm oil\n(CPO) and its derivatives to exporting companies from 2022 through\n2024,\u201d he added. The first witness was Vivi, an employee of PT Benua\nLautan Cargo. She was questioned in capacity as an authorised exporter\nin handling customs documents. Investigators also questioned Erwan\nHasibuan from PT Tangki Samosir Gesindo. \u201cThe examination concerns the\nstatus of the goods\u2019 customs clearance and the consistency of the\nphysical volume with the documents,\u201d he said. The charges against the\nsuspects were announced by Anang Supriatna, Head of the Legal\nInformation Centre of the Kejagung, at a press conference at the Bundar\nBuilding of the Attorney General\u2019s Office, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 10\nFebruary 2026. Anang noted that the suspects come from various elements,\nranging from government ministries and customs authorities to private\nparties. The suspects are alleged to have violated Article 603 in\nconjunction with Article 20(a) or 20(c) of Law No.\u00a01 of 2023 on the\nEradication of Corruption, in addition to Article 3 in conjunction with\nArticle 18 of Law No.\u00a031 of 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption\nCrimes.<\/p>",
