        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, as Vice Chair I\nof the Task Force for Forest Area Regulation (Satgas PKH), has affirmed\nthat the state must not lose to mafias \u201csucking\u201d Indonesia\u2019s forest\nwealth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe state must not lose to mafias hungry to suck Indonesia\u2019s forest\nwealth to enrich themselves,\u201d he said during the Handover of\nAdministrative Fines and State Financial Recovery as well as\nRe-possession of Forest Areas Phase VI at the Attorney General\u2019s Office\nBuilding, Jakarta, on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The Attorney General explained that Indonesia has been blessed with\nsignificant strategic assets in the form of rich natural resources, a\nhighly important geopolitical position, and a strong demographic\nbonus.<\/p>\n<p>However, in the global economic architecture, Indonesia often remains\nin a less than optimal position.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a supplier of raw materials and a consumer market, while added\nvalue and strategic profits flow more to foreign countries,\u201d he\ncontinued.<\/p>\n<p>This situation, he said, indicates that the management of national\nresources has not fully maximised benefits for the people\u2019s welfare.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, he stated, the state has a constitutional responsibility\nto realise social welfare through an active role in managing protection\nand national interests.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, according to him, law enforcement cannot be\nunderstood merely as a repressive instrument, but must also be\npositioned as part of the state\u2019s policy in realising social justice and\ncommunity welfare.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, he emphasised that the law must be enforced and firm law\nenforcement is necessary within the framework of maintaining national\nstability, namely by taking action against parties that misuse state\nforest areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe ensure that forests, as God\u2019s gift, are a blessing owned by the\nIndonesian nation, must be managed and preserved for the people\u2019s\ninterests, not just for the interests of a handful of groups,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Satgas PKH officially handed over money amounting to\nRp11.4 trillion, from regulatory actions in the form of administrative\nfines and state financial recovery, to the state treasury.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Satgas PKH also handed over more than five million\nhectares of forest area land that has been successfully repossessed to\nthe state.<\/p>",
