From a\nsearch of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia\u2019s office on Monday\n9 March, investigators seized a number of documents and electronic\ndevices.<\/p>\n<p>Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, Director of Investigation at JAM-Pidsus,\nconfirmed the results of the search in an official statement. \u201cThere\nwere documents and electronic evidence,\u201d Syarief said in a written\nstatement on Tuesday 10 March.<\/p>\n<p>The seizure represents a crucial step in examining corporate\ninvolvement in the obstruction of justice case. Although the Attorney\nGeneral has secured evidence, the prosecution continues to withhold\ndetails of the seized documents\u2019 contents for the benefit of advancing\nthe investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Based on gathered information, the search targeted the office of one\nof the Ombudsman\u2019s commissioners. In addition to the public oversight\nagency\u2019s office, investigators also conducted searches at other\nlocations on the same day. \u201cIt\u2019s correct (there were other locations\nsearched), if I\u2019m not mistaken (in) Cibubur,\u201d Syarief said.<\/p>\n<p>This series of raids indicates the seriousness of the Prosecutor\u2019s\nOffice in fully investigating anyone attempting to obstruct law\nenforcement in the crude palm oil export scandal, which had previously\nshaken domestic market stability.<\/p>\n<p>The Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia stated that its report\nregarding the Jimbaran land dispute has been completed in accordance\nwith institutional procedures. The documents also include in-depth\nstudies on waste management in Sorong city and handling of persons with\nmental illness.<\/p>\n<p>The Attorney General has also conducted dozens of searches at\nlocations in Riau and Medan regarding alleged corruption in CPO exports\nand its derivatives for the 2022\u20132024 period, seizing land assets, palm\noil factories, and heavy machinery.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized Rp5\nbillion from a raid in Ciputat related to bribery and gratification\ncases involving counterfeit goods imports at the Customs and Excise\nDirectorate General. The KPK also searched the offices and official\nresidences of the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Depok District Court\nin relation to a land dispute bribery case, seizing documents and\nUSD50,000.<\/p>\n<p>Searches also occurred at the Central Customs and Excise office, with\nthe total amount of money seized still being calculated. Official\nvehicles examined included the official car of Madiun City Secretary\nSoeko Dwi Hardianto and that of the Head of the General Division of\nMadiun City.<\/p>",
