Indonesia\u2019s Attorney General\u2019s Office (Kejaksaan Agung RI) remains\ncommitted to establishing clean and accountable village governance. This\nstrengthening of governance structures is undertaken through the Village\nGuardian Programme (Jaksa Garda Desa).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Village Guardian Programme is designed to provide a sense of\nsecurity for village officials in executing development programmes. We\naim to build legal awareness from the grassroots level,\u201d stated Reda\nManthovani, Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence at Indonesia\u2019s\nAttorney General\u2019s Office, on Saturday 14 March 2026.<\/p>\n
This was emphasised during the Programme Optimisation activity held\nin South Lampung Regency, Lampung on Friday 13 March.<\/p>\n
Reda stressed that the Village Guardian Programme is not merely\noversight, but rather a form of preventive support to prevent village\nheads and their staff from becoming entangled in legal problems whilst\nmanaging substantial village funds. He also affirmed that this\ninitiative represents a concrete step by the Attorney General\u2019s Office\nin supporting the government\u2019s broader vision.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Village Guardian Programme aligns perfectly with the sixth\npillar of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran\nRakabuming Raka\u2019s administration, namely building from the village level\nupwards to achieve economic equalisation and poverty eradication,\u201d he\nstated.<\/p>\n
Beyond the oversight aspect, the Deputy Attorney General highlighted\nthe importance of inter-agency synergy at village level. He encouraged\ncloser collaboration between the Attorney General\u2019s Office and the\nNational Association of Village Consultative Bodies (Abpednas).<\/p>\n
\u201cWe expect active collaboration with Abpednas as our strategic field\npartner. Strengthening village governance requires effective checks and\nbalances. With support from the Attorney General\u2019s Office and oversight\nfrom Abpednas, we are confident that village budget leakage can be\nsignificantly minimised,\u201d he emphasised.<\/p>\n
The strategic event was also attended directly by the Head of Lampung\nHigh Prosecutor\u2019s Office (Kajati) Kuntadi and South Lampung Regent\nRadityo Egi Pratama.<\/p>\n
Radityo welcomed South Lampung\u2019s selection as the location for this\nprogramme optimisation. According to him, the presence of prosecutors\nwithin village communities will boost the confidence of village\nofficials in innovating and developing their regions.<\/p>\n
