The Criminal Investigation Directorate\u2019s Resmob team of the East Nusa\nTenggara (NTT) Regional Police has arrested a man suspected of\ninvolvement in an attempted murder case in Malaka Regency. The man,\nidentified by the initials ANB (22), was arrested in the Oepoi area of\nKupang City after being on the run for some time.<\/p>\n
Director of General Criminal Investigation at the NTT Regional\nPolice, Senior Commissioner Sigit Haryono, stated that the arrest was\nmade in support of the investigation being handled by the Malaka\nPolice.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Resmob team conducted an investigation after receiving\ninformation about the suspected perpetrator\u2019s whereabouts in Kupang\nCity. Following surveillance and sweeping, the individual was\nsuccessfully apprehended,\u201d Sigit said on Wednesday (24\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n
Sigit explained that the case involving ANB originated from an\nalleged attempted murder that occurred on 7 April 2026 at around 11:45\np.m. Central Indonesian Time at the intersection of Jalan Raya Pasar\nBeiabuk, Wehali Village, Central Malaka District, Malaka.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe matter has been reported to the Malaka Police and is currently\nstill under investigation. Police suspect ANB was involved in the\ncriminal act before eventually fleeing to Kupang City,\u201d Sigit\nstated.<\/p>\n
The team obtained information that ANB was in the vicinity of Jalan\nBajawa, Oepoi Subdistrict, behind the Oebobo Terminal. \u201cPolice then\nconducted location mapping and surveillance to confirm the suspected\nperpetrator\u2019s whereabouts,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
From the investigation results, ANB was spotted in the area around\nthe Muhammadiyah University of Kupang campus in Kayu Putih Subdistrict\nwhile refilling a water gallon.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat information was then followed up with sweeping at several\npoints, including boarding houses around Oebobo,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
After conducting a search since Tuesday (23\/6\/2026) evening, the\nResmob team finally located ANB on Wednesday morning at around 10:00\na.m. Central Indonesian Time.<\/p>\n
He confirmed that the man, originally from Letemnasi Nunkolo, South\nCentral Timor Regency (TTS), was then taken to the NTT Regional Police\nCriminal Investigation Directorate Headquarters for further\nexamination.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will continue to assist police ranks throughout the NTT region in\nhunting down criminals who attempt to evade the legal process,\u201d Sigit\nsaid.<\/p>\n
He stated that the police are committed to ensuring that every\nsuspected criminal offender is arrested to account for their\nactions.<\/p>\n
