Indonesia plans to redirect part of its crude oil imports to the United States as Washington and Tel Aviv coordinate their approach to Iran, though their objectives diverge. An analyst warns that much of the aims may not be achievable by air power alone, and the situation includes conflicting signals from regional players.

Indonesia will redirect a portion of its crude oil imports to the
United States. While the United States and Israel continue to coordinate
their campaign against Iran, they are not fully aligned in their demands
toward the Islamic Republic, an analyst said. ‘The Trump administration
has signalled through its messages to the Iranian people that it wants
to see regime change in Iran, but still, at least in its public
statements, priorities are the destruction of the nuclear program,
ballistic missiles, and Iran’s support for terrorism,’ said Jason
Campbell, a senior fellow at the Middle East Institute, on Wednesday.
‘But Israel is far more explicit about demanding regime change,’
Campbell told Al Jazeera from Washington, DC. As the war continues,
there are likely to be differences between Israel’s prerogatives and
America’s. Moreover, it remains unclear how much of these aims can be
achieved purely through air operations. That is highly doubtful,’
Campbell added.

‘Wang told Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah that
he valued Riyadh’s restraint. The statement was accompanied by footage
that the military said showed an attack aimed at destroying what they
described as an air-defence system. There were reports of casualties in
several areas, including civilians. So far, twenty schools have been
affected.’

‘Hizbullah said the attack was in response to Israeli aggression
targeting dozens of towns and settlements in Lebanon, including the
southern outskirts of Beirut. Iran postponed the farewell ceremony for
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei due to logistical and security concerns. Israel
threatened to kill anyone who would be a successor to Khamenei.’
",
