Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung hosted a town hall meeting to address deficiencies in public service delivery, particularly the misuse of AI-generated images to falsely resolve citizen complaints via the JAKI app. He emphasised the need for genuine follow-up on reports and warned against superficial efforts to please superiors, vowing to prevent such incidents from recurring. In response to the viral case in Kalisari, three PPSU workers have been issued SP1 warnings as part of efforts to improve accountability in public infrastructure management.

The Jakarta Provincial Government held a town hall meeting on public
services at the Grand Theatre, Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), on Wednesday
(15/4/2025). The meeting was convened following several instances of
fabricated follow-ups to citizens’ reports through the JAKI application.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the event invited
sub-district heads, district heads, mayors, regents, and officials
related to handling public facilities and infrastructure (PPSU). The
activity aimed to improve the performance of PPSU workers in Jakarta.
“Even after we delved into various issues, including those in Kalisari,
it truly tarnishes Jakarta’s image. As Governor, I do not want it to
happen again, so there is no room for repetition,” he said. According to
him, the Jakarta Provincial Government has endeavoured to improve the
citizen reporting system through the JAKI app, allowing direct
monitoring of report progress. He also reminded field officers to
genuinely follow up on citizens’ reports. Pramono stressed that field
officers must not work merely to please their superiors. It is known
that a short time ago, a citizen report via the JAKI app went viral for
being followed up with AI-edited photos in the Kalisari area, Pasar
Rebo, East Jakarta. The AI-generated photos were made to appear as if
the reported illegal parking issue had been resolved, but in reality, it
had not.
",
