During the forum, AHY highlighted\nthe increasingly complex world dynamics, ranging from global economic\nuncertainty and supply chain disruptions to pressures on energy, food,\nand water security, alongside rising geopolitical fragmentation\naffecting global economic stability and growth. According to him, these\nchallenges cannot be faced partially or by a single country alone.\nCloser partnerships that are mutually respectful and oriented towards\nreal solutions are required. \u2018Indonesia is striving to be a bridge, a\nbalancer, and a constructive partner in strengthening international\ncooperation,\u2019 AHY said in a written statement on Friday (5\/6\/2026). He\naffirmed that in line with the direction of President Prabowo Subianto,\nIndonesia continues to pursue a free and active foreign policy that is\nopen, inclusive, and oriented towards collaboration. \u2018We seek friendship\nwith all nations. We believe in dialogue over confrontation, and\ncooperation over rivalry,\u2019 he said. In his presentation, AHY explained\nthat infrastructure development for Indonesia is not solely focused on\nphysical construction such as roads, ports, airports, or transport\nnetworks. Infrastructure is positioned as the main foundation to\nstrengthen food, energy, and water security. It is also to expand access\nto economic opportunities and improve the quality of life. \u2018For\nIndonesia, infrastructure development is not just about building roads,\nports, or transport networks. Infrastructure is the foundation for\nstrengthening food, energy, and water security; expanding opportunities;\nand improving people\u2019s quality of life,\u2019 he said. As the world\u2019s largest\narchipelagic nation and the biggest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia\nholds a unique and strategic position in strengthening regional and\nglobal connectivity. He stated that with a geographical location on\ninternational trade routes and its role as a key driver of the ASEAN\neconomy, Indonesia has great potential to become a hub that strengthens\ncooperation between Southeast Asia and the Eurasian region. At the\nforum, AHY also encouraged more concrete cooperation between ASEAN\ncountries and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), particularly in\nsectors that represent shared future needs. \u2018This cooperation includes\nthe development of low-carbon transport, strategic connectivity\nbuilding, climate-resilient infrastructure, clean energy,\ntechnology-based logistics systems, and a sustainable maritime economy,\u2019\nhe said. AHY assessed that EAEU countries possess various advantages in\nenergy, manufacturing, technology, logistics, and infrastructure\nengineering that can form the basis of a mutually beneficial\ncollaboration with Indonesia and other ASEAN nations. Furthermore, AHY\nasserted that green infrastructure development is one of Indonesia\u2019s top\npriorities in facing future challenges. The transformation towards\ncleaner transport systems, the development of renewable energy, and\nclimate-adaptive development are part of the long-term strategy to\nmaintain national competitiveness as well as development sustainability.\nOn the occasion, AHY also highlighted three main priorities for\nIndonesia\u2019s infrastructure development: the decarbonisation of the\ntransport sector towards the Net Zero Emissions target, strengthening\nstrategic connectivity through the integration of ports and railway\nnetworks, and building climate-resilient infrastructure, including the\nGiant Sea Wall project. \u2018These three priorities form one unified vision:\nan Indonesia that is stronger, greener, and more prepared for the\nfuture,\u2019 AHY said.
