The statement was delivered in\nthe closing speech for the Fourth Session of the 2025\u20132026 Legislative\nYear of the DPR RI on Tuesday (21\/4\/2026). \u201cOn behalf of the leadership\nand all members of the DPR RI, please allow me to express our deepest\ncondolences for the passing of Captain Inf. Zulmi Aditya, Sergeant Major\nM Nur Ichwan, and Private First Class Farizal Romadhon while carrying\nout a humanitarian mission in Lebanon,\u201d Puan said during the Plenary\nSession at Nusantara II Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta.\nShe hoped that the fallen soldiers would receive the best place and that\ntheir bereaved families would be granted strength. As is known, the\nthree soldiers perished while performing duties as part of the United\nNations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) at the end of March, amid the\nescalation of conflict between the Israeli military and Hezbollah.\nRegarding the incident, Puan emphasised the importance of a credible\ninvestigation together with the UN to uncover objective facts. Puan also\nrequested that the government conduct a comprehensive evaluation of TNI\nsoldier assignments in conflict areas, from the clarity of mandates to\nmaximum protection for personnel. \u201cThis is in accordance with\ninternational best practice standards in UN peacekeeping operations,\nwhich demand readiness in political, capacity, and operational\nenvironment aspects,\u201d she added. In addition to expressing grief, Puan\nalso warned of the impacts of escalating global conflicts, particularly\nthe intensifying tensions between the United States (US), Israel, and\nIran. According to her, the conflict has exerted real pressure on the\nglobal and national economy. \u201cThis conflict risks driving up energy\nprices, worsening global inflation, and increasing economic and\nfinancial uncertainty worldwide,\u201d Puan said. \u201cWars occurring far from\nour country\u2019s territory, but their impacts are directly felt\ndomestically through prices, purchasing power, and economic stability,\u201d\nPuan stated.
