        "content": "<p>PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) is preparing a corporate action\ninvolving the purchase of its own shares, or buyback, with a maximum\nvalue of Rp 2 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>Corporate Secretary of ASII Gita Tiffany Boer explained that the\nshare buyback will be financed using internal company funds. These funds\ndo not come from borrowings or public offerings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe number of shares to be repurchased in the buyback execution will\nnot exceed 20 per cent of the company\u2019s paid-up capital, whilst ensuring\nthat the number of free float shares after the buyback execution will\nnot become less than 7.5 per cent of the paid-up capital,\u201d wrote Gita in\nher statement on Friday, 13 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Gita stated that the buyback step is aimed at maintaining the\nstability of ASII\u2019s share price when market conditions fluctuate. The\nmeasure is also expected to increase investor confidence in the\ncompany\u2019s fundamental value.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo increase value for shareholders and support the government\u2019s\nefforts to maintain stability and confidence in the Indonesian capital\nmarket, ASII plans to conduct a share buyback,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Treasury shares resulting from the buyback can be resold in the\nfuture. Such sales would be conducted if the company needs additional\ncapital at what is deemed an optimal price.<\/p>",
