A Ramadan 1447 H study session coupled with assistance distribution
to orphans and the underprivileged was held at Endan Andansih Mosque in
Purwakarta on Saturday, 14 March 2026. In addition to religious
teachings, the event included the distribution of food aid to the
surrounding community as a demonstration of social concern during the
holy month of Ramadan. Various community leaders and invited guests
attended the activities, which took place in a dignified atmosphere of
togetherness.

In his remarks, Hery Susanto, a member of the Indonesian Ombudsman,
who served as keynote speaker, stated that Ramadan represents an
important opportunity to strengthen the balance between spiritual
worship and social responsibility. He emphasised that religious values
are reflected not only in humanity’s relationship with God, but also in
care for one another.

“Ramadan teaches us that religiosity does not end with personal
worship. Worship should generate social awareness. When we are able to
feel the difficulties of others and are moved to help, that is where
humaneness and faith walk together,” said Hery.

During the event, organisers distributed approximately 1,000 food aid
packages to communities around the mosque. The assistance was provided
as a demonstration of concern for residents in need and to help ease the
burden on the community during their observance of the fasting
period.

Hery viewed sharing activities such as this as having broader
significance than merely material assistance. He believed that social
activities involving various segments of society strengthen networks of
solidarity and build trust within social life.

“When communities, organisations, and leaders come together in a
single social movement, what develops is not merely material assistance.
What grows is mutual trust, empathy, and solidarity that form a strong
foundation for national life,” he stated.

He also highlighted that the dynamic global situation requires
society to strengthen unity and social resilience. In the face of
various global challenges, Indonesian society must maintain harmony and
reinforce care as the collective strength of the nation.

“We witness a world that is not always stable. Therefore, society
must continue to strengthen unity and compassion. A strong nation is one
whose citizens care for and help one another,” he said.

Beyond emphasising the social aspect, Hery also encouraged the
community to use Ramadan as an opportunity to strengthen spiritual
quality and inner peace. He believed that inner peace enables
individuals to face life’s challenges more wisely and makes it easier to
spread goodness to others.

“Inner peace enables a person to face various life problems more
wisely. From that peace comes empathy, compassion, and the desire to
benefit others,” he explained.

He hopes that religious activities accompanied by social action such
as assistance and food distribution can continue sustainably. According
to him, such activities not only help those in need but also strengthen
the spirit of mutual cooperation that is the primary strength of the
Indonesian nation.

Also present at the event were Muhammad Yusuf Ateh, Chairman of the
Board of Trustees of the Endan Andansih Foundation, Aceh Endang Usman,
Administrator of the Endan Andansih Foundation, and preacher Ustadz
Rahmat Baiquni. The activities concluded with a collective prayer led by
the local MUI Chairman.
",
