        "content": "<p>The Asset Forfeiture Bill has been confirmed for completion by\nDecember 2026. The assurance was delivered by the Chairman of House of\nRepresentatives Commission III, Habiburokhman. According to him,\nCommission III is currently finalising the drafting of the bill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCommission III continues to accelerate the formation of the Asset\nForfeiture Bill and it is confirmed to be passed no later than the House\nof Representatives Plenary Session in December 2026,\u201d said Habiburokhman\non Tuesday (25\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Habiburokhman has calculated the effective sitting time of the House\nof Representatives. After deducting the recess period, the House only\nhas approximately eight weeks to complete the Asset Forfeiture Bill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWithin those eight weeks of sitting time, Commission III will hold\npublic hearing meetings for gathering input, harmonisation, working\nmeetings with the government, deliberation of the problem inventory\nlist, first-level approval, and finally second-level approval at the\nplenary session in December 2026,\u201d explained Habiburokhman.<\/p>\n<p>Commission III has reportedly held 35 public hearing meetings and\nconducted three working visits to the regions to gather input. In\naddition, they have received written submissions from dozens of\ncommunity groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause the remaining time is not very long, if there are still\nmembers of the public who wish to express their views, this can be done\nby submitting a written concept,\u201d said Habiburokhman.<\/p>\n<p>For Habiburokhman, the process of gathering public input is\napproaching its maximum as various opinions from the community have been\nwell mapped. He claimed that the majority of the public supports the\nformation of the Asset Forfeiture Bill. The regulation is considered\ncapable of preventing potential abuse of authority if drafted\ncarefully.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe majority of the public strongly supports the formation of the\nAsset Forfeiture Bill.
