"summary": "The assembled personal computer (PC) market is experiencing a downturn due to rising prices of key components such as CPUs, GPUs, RAM, and storage, leading consumers to delay upgrades or purchases. Data from German retailer Mindfactory indicates that CPU sales hit a historic low in the 13th week of 2026, with AMD dominating at 89% market share while Intel lags at just over 10%. Consumers are opting for more affordable older-generation CPUs like AMD's Ryzen series compatible with DDR4 memory, and future market recovery hinges on global price stabilisations.",
"content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The assembled personal computer (PC) market is\nshowing a downward trend, in line with the increasing prices of\ncomponents in recent times. Citing Gizmochina on Tuesday (31\/3) local\ntime, the latest data from German retailer Mindfactory for the 13th week\nof 2026 records Central Processing Unit (CPU) sales at the lowest point\nin history. The rise in prices of components such as CPUs, GPUs, RAM,\nand storage memory is said to be the main factor causing consumers to\npostpone buying or upgrading their PCs. This situation is prompting many\nusers to be more cautious and choose to wait for prices to stabilise\nagain. Amid the sluggish CPU sales, AMD still dominates with a share of\naround 89 per cent, far surpassing Intel which only records slightly\nabove 10 per cent. Consumer demand remains strong for older-generation\nCPUs that are more affordable, such as AMD\u2019s Ryzen line which is still\ncompatible with DDR4 memory. The combination of lower prices and\nadequate performance makes these products still sought after compared to\nthe latest platforms that require DDR5 technology. Overall, this trend\nshows that interest in assembled PCs has not completely disappeared, but\nconsumers are now more selective in purchasing components. The future\ndevelopment of the assembled PC market is expected to depend heavily on\nthe decline in component prices in the global market.<\/p>",
