        "content": "<p>Asiawide phone cards<\/p>\n<p>TOKYO (AFP): Major telecommunications companies in seven Asian<br>\neconomies have started developing common telephone cards for<br>\ncalls among them, the Sankei Shimbun said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>An informal committee of common carriers in Hong Kong,<br>\nIndonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and South<br>\nKorea aim to realize the world's first regional telephone cards<br>\nby the end of next March, the daily said.<\/p>\n<p>The committee, set up under the initiative of Japan's Kokusai<br>\nDenshin Denwa (KDD), will apply to authorities in each nation for<br>\nthe approval of the international cards based on the current<br>\nformat of KDD's pre-paid cards, it said.<\/p>\n<p>There are few technical problems, but different charge systems<br>\nneed to be standardized, it said. KDD refused to comment on the<br>\nnewspaper report.<\/p>",
