Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Investment and Downstreaming Ministry and
Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) has informed that Asia’s first
quantum artificial intelligence (AI) data centre will be built in Batam,
Riau Islands, with an investment of US$400 million.

In a statement issued in Jakarta on Tuesday, Deputy Minister of
Investment and Downstreaming and deputy head of the BKPM, Todotua
Pasaribu, said that the investment will make Indonesia a centre for
advanced computing based on artificial intelligence and quantum
technology in Asia.

“This aligns with President Prabowo’s directive targeting 8 per cent
economic growth toward the Golden Indonesia 2045 (goal). The digital
economy, particularly data centres, is a key pillar to achieve this,” he
said.

“Indonesia has tremendous potential in this sector, and we are ready
to be a key partner in building Asia’s digital future,” he added.

The investment plan was confirmed in a strategic partnership
agreement signed by Worldvuer iByond Limited, a Silicon Valley-based
technology company, and Tunas Prima Industrial Estate in Jakarta on July
9, 2025.

Pasaribu said that the data centre will be built in the Tunas Prima
area, a green industrial park located in Batam, Riau Islands, which has
renewable energy-based infrastructure such as solar panels and
self-contained water treatment facilities. The area previously attracted
investment from global manufacturers such as Apple iPhone and AirTag
producers.

Worldvuer iByond Ltd. is the developer of the Vovea iByond Operating
System, which combines various types of advanced computing technologies,
including quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and Big Data
analytics, to produce processing speeds and capacities that far exceed
conventional data centres.

Indonesia will be the first base for this technology in Asia, after
Silicon Valley and the Middle East, Pasaribu said.

In addition to building the data centre, Worldvuer iByond Ltd. is
exploring potential collaborations in the energy sector, similar to the
one it has forged with Aramco in Saudi Arabia. It is also exploring
cooperation in telecommunications technology with Telkom Group and the
Ministry of Communication and Digital.

“Through the Job Creation Law and the OSS system, we have simplified
regulations. We are also providing various fiscal incentives such as tax
holidays, super tax deductions for research and human resource
development, and import duty exemptions for equipment,” he said.

“This demonstrates our commitment to supporting quality investments
like this project,” he added.

As a follow-up, Worldvuer iByond Ltd. will submit a formal incentive
proposal and supporting documents to the Ministry of Investment and
Downstreaming, and open the door to broader collaboration with the
education and mining sectors, particularly in developing a gold-based
microchip supply chain.
",
