Asian makeup contest to be held<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Paris-based Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) cosmetic
\ncompany is inviting Indonesian professional and amateur makeup
\nartists to compete in the Creative Look Award makeup contest.<\/p>\n
The contest is part of the company's regional makeup
\ncompetition which covers Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong,
\nSingapore, Taiwan and other Asian countries.<\/p>\n
The contest has three sections: day makeup, night makeup and
\ncreative makeup.<\/p>\n
National winners in the novice and professional categories
\nwill win a total S$11,000 in prize vouchers.<\/p>\n
The regional winners of the professional and novice categories
\nwill each receive a trophy and an opportunity to fly to Paris to
\nsee the presentation of Yves Saint Laurent's Autumn\/Winter l997
\nHaute Couture Collection.<\/p>\n
The five-day Paris trip will include a visit to the Sanofi
\nlaboratory which is the largest cosmetics laboratory in Paris.<\/p>\n
Indonesians can submit their creations to PT Cosparindo Prima,
\nYSL's Indonesian distributor, on Jl. Bangka Raya No. 43, Pela,
\nJakarta 12720. The deadline is April 25. Information on the
\ncontest is available at YSL counters in department stores in
\nJakarta and other cities.<\/p>\n
The Indonesian grand final will be held in May 1997. The
\nregional grand final will be held in Singapore in June.<\/p>\n
Tan Yan Po, YSL's regional marketing manager, said the contest
\naimed to recognize the novelty and creativity of the region's
\nmakeup artists.<\/p>\n
"This is the first Yves Saint Laurent Creative Look Award in
\nAsia," she said. "The Asian region is a potential market for
\ncosmetic products and its artists are talented. We hope that the
\nregions' artists can place their footholds in the international
