        "content": "<p>ASEAN's second funds<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (Reuter): The ASEAN Bankers' Association has signed<br>\na memorandum of understanding for the launch of the second ASEAN<br>\nFund later this year, an official from ASEAN Fund Ltd said<br>\nyesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The value of the fund, the ASEAN Supreme Fund Ltd, will be<br>\nbetween US$100 million to $150 million and it will be invested in<br>\nequity and equity-related securities of companies in ASEAN<br>\n(Association of Southeast Asian Nations) member countries, the<br>\nofficial said.<\/p>\n<p>ASEAN groups Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the<br>\nPhilippines, Brunei and Vietnam.<\/p>\n<p>An official from the Association of Banks in Singapore said<br>\nlead-manager of the fund is Nomura Securities Co Ltd and Nomura<br>\nSingapore Ltd who are underwriting at least $50 million in the<br>\nfund.<\/p>\n<p>Another $50 million will be underwritten by the national<br>\nbanking associations of five ASEAN countries.<\/p>\n<p>Plans are for the fund to be listed on the Stock Exchange of<br>\nSingapore and the Osaka Securities Exchange, the official said.<br>\nThe fund will be marketed to banks and financial institutions in<br>\nJapan and the ASEAN region.<\/p>",
