        "content": "<p>Shenzhen (ANTARA) - The largest single-unit-scale photovoltaic\nproject in Southeast Asia, the CGN Laos Northern Interconnection Clean\nEnergy Base phase-1 with a capacity of 1 million kW, has successfully\nconnected to the grid and begun operations on Tuesday (7\/4).<\/p>\n<p>This photovoltaic project was designed and developed by China General\nNuclear Power Group (CGN), with an annual output capacity of 1.65\nbillion kWh and a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to\napproximately 1.3 million tons.<\/p>\n<p>The project is located in a mountainous area in Oudomxay Province.\nDuring the construction process, CGN applied high standards and promoted\nthe establishment of a research institute for standards related to new\nenergy power plant projects in Laos.<\/p>\n<p>In its construction process, the project involved more than 70\ncompanies in the value chain from China and Laos, providing vital\ncontributions to the energy transition in Laos.<\/p>\n<p>The construction of this CGN project has also created around 3,000\njobs for local residents and prioritised the maintenance of\ninfrastructure as well as the preservation of the natural environment\naround the project site, thus receiving widespread recognition from the\ncommunity for the social responsibility demonstrated by the Chinese\ncompany.<\/p>",
