        "content": "<p>ASEAN now on Internet<\/p>\n<p>BANGKOK (JP): ASEAN yesterday inaugurated the ASEANWEB which<br>\nwill allow internet users to access general information and<br>\nprofiles of individual member states.<\/p>\n<p>The ASEANWEB was inaugurated by ministers yesterday during the<br>\nclosing day of a two-day ministerial meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Users can now log-on to the ASEANWEB by punching in<br>\nhttp:\/\/www.asean.or.id on the internet. Officials said for the<br>\nfirst three months access will be free of charge and only after<br>\nthat will a payment scheme be devised.<\/p>\n<p>The ASEANWEB comprises an ASEAN Homepage which gives broad<br>\ninformation of individual member states, history of ASEAN,<br>\neconomic and political cooperation, documents, press releases,<br>\ntext of various agreements and yearly schedule of meetings.<\/p>\n<p>A section will be devoted to the ASEAN Free Trade Area which<br>\nmakes available important data on the intra and extra-regional<br>\ntrade value, explanatory notes along with the tariff reduction<br>\nschedules for 21 commodities.
