        "content": "<p>ASEAN ministers to meet<\/p>\n<p>BANGKOK (Reuters): Economic ministers of the 10-member<br>\nAssociation of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) will meet in a<br>\nnorthern Cambodian town of Siem Reap from May 3 to 5, the Thai<br>\ncommerce ministry said Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>A ministry official told Reuters an informal meeting, known as<br>\na retreat, would be held on March 3. The ministers would meet<br>\ntheir counterparts from China, Japan, and South Korea on May 4.<\/p>\n<p>Topics to be discussed included the promotion of information<br>\ntechnology under a so-called e-ASEAN Initiative and plans for<br>\neconomic cooperation between ASEAN and Australia and New Zealand,<br>\nsaid the official, who declined to be identified.<\/p>\n<p>The ministers were expected to find ways to help recent<br>\nmembers of ASEAN -- Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam -- forge<br>\ncloser economic development, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Thai Commerce Minister Adisai Bodharamik would chair the Siem<br>\nRiep meeting.<\/p>",
