        "content": "<p>An international delegation from the ASEAN-ID Blue forum visited\nBanyuwangi, East Java, to study local practices in developing a\ncommunity-based blue economy. The group toured the Merah Putih\nFishermen\u2019s Cooperative (KNMP) in Lateng and the Bangsring Underwater\nconservation area.<\/p>\n<p>Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani stated that the field visit\nprovided delegates with an opportunity to observe firsthand the blue\neconomy practices developed by the local community. The ASEAN-ID Blue\nforum is an initiative by Indonesia\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the\nMinistry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, and New Zealand\u2019s Ministry of\nForeign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). It brings together ASEAN member\nstates, East Asia Summit (EAS) members, and Pacific Islands Forum (PIF)\nmembers to share community-based blue economy development practices.<\/p>\n<p>During the visit to Bangsring Underwater, delegates observed marine\nconservation efforts undertaken by coastal communities, including coral\nreef rehabilitation and ecotourism development. Zelda Wulan Kartika,\nExpert Staff for Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,\nremarked that the future of ASEAN\u2019s blue economy will be significantly\nshaped by local-level practices such as those developed in Banyuwangi.\nShe emphasised that fishermen\u2019s cooperatives, micro, small, and medium\nenterprises (MSMEs), and conservation groups play a crucial role in\ntranslating intergovernmental cooperation commitments into real benefits\nfor the community.<\/p>",
