        "content": "<p>PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry\u2019s Chief Director Heru Widodo announced that\nhe will take action against ticket touts operating at Merak and Ciwandan\nports in Banten, whilst also urging passengers not to purchase tickets\nfrom intermediaries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are once again appealing to the public to purchase tickets online\nindependently and not through intermediaries,\u201d said Heru at Merak Port\non Monday, 16 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Widodo emphasised that ASDP has operated an online ticketing system\nfor six years and the public should be aware of it by now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been selling tickets online since 2020. This means the\nsystem has been running for six years. The public should already know\nthat our tickets have been sold online for six years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that ASDP will collaborate with law enforcement authorities\nto address the problem of touts at ports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are working with the police and law enforcement to take action\nagainst touts still operating in port areas,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Widodo also vowed to penalise any staff members engaged in tout\nactivities, such as the ticket officer at Ciwandan Port who sold tickets\nat Rp 80,000 when the official online price was Rp 45,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf any staff member tampers with tickets, we will investigate. There\nis absolutely no leniency for fraud or misconduct that causes harm. I\nhave zero tolerance for this; all cases will be prosecuted. I guarantee\nthat,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, an elderly man named Asrul, aged 72, claimed to have\npurchased a ferry ticket at nearly double the price at Ciwandan Port.\nUmar Imran Batubara, General Manager of ASDP\u2019s Merak branch, stated that\nthe incident occurred on Sunday evening, 15 March.<\/p>\n<p>ASDP field personnel conducted clarification and investigation,\nconfirming a price discrepancy in the transaction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe difference has been fully refunded to the service user, whilst\nthe ticket remains valid for travel,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>ASDP has also taken disciplinary action against the staff member\ninvolved in the incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a follow-up, the staff member involved has been suspended from\nservice duties and the labour provider has been issued a formal warning\nletter,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSubsequently, the individual concerned will be questioned further by\nthe Ciwandan Port Control and Security Unit for investigation in\naccordance with applicable procedures,\u201d he added.<\/p>",
