        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has increased\nthe capacity of Bajoe Wharf in Bone Regency, South Sulawesi, so\ninterregional ferry services and logistics distribution can operate more\nsmoothly and efficiently. ASDP\u2019s Corporate Secretary Windy Andale said\nthe effort was carried out by re-operating the moveable bridge (MB)\nconnecting the wharf and the vessel at Bajoe Port after a comprehensive\nrevitalisation was completed. \u2018The introduction of the new moveable\nbridge marks an important step in strengthening inter-island\nconnectivity while improving safety and comfort for the service users,\u2019\nWindy said in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday. He noted that MB\noperation was marked by a berthing test on Thursday, after ASDP had\ncompleted the commissioning phase and load testing in collaboration with\nstakeholders. The revitalisation involved a total replacement of the MB\nstructure and hydraulic system, increasing capacity from 30 tonnes to 50\ntonnes. In addition, ASDP reinforced the trestle bridge leading to the\nMB to ensure port operations are safer, more stable and reliable in the\nlong term. The port facility refresh, including repainting, was also\ncarried out to present a more comfortable and representative port\nenvironment. Windy said the MB revitalisation at Bajoe Port is part of\nthe company\u2019s commitment to delivering increasingly high-quality ferry\nservices. \u2018The improvement to the MB is expected to enhance operational\nsmoothness, safety, and comfort for ferry service users,\u2019 Windy said. He\nadded that infrastructure development should not focus solely on the\nphysical aspects but must deliver tangible benefits to surrounding\ncommunities. During the revitalisation process, ASDP implemented a range\nof social programmes such as food aid distributions and entrepreneurship\ntraining for Bajoe residents. Regent Andi Asman Sulaiman praised the\ninvolvement of around 25 local residents in the MB revitalisation works\nand port facilities in the area. The Regent regards Bajoe Port as\nholding a strategic position in supporting regional economic growth and\nmobility. \u2018We thank ASDP for the pier\u2019s improvements. It is our joint\nduty to maintain and care for it,\u2019 said Andi Asman. The Regent hoped\nBajoe Port connectivity could continue to be expanded through the\naddition of ferry routes to various other regions. Currently, the Bajoe Branch of ASDP serves\ntwo commercial routes: Bajoe\u2013Kolaka and Siwa\u2013Tobaku, and two pioneer\nroutes Maccini Baji\u2013Sabutung and Maccini Baji\u2013Balanglompo. In addition\nto infrastructure strengthening, ASDP is also continuing to improve port\nsecurity through a joint drill simulating handling of a bomb threat on\n16 May 2026 with Bone Police Resort, Gegana Detachment of South\nSulawesi, Brimob\u2019s Battalion C, and the Port Area Police Sector.
