Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the Indonesian Government Communication\nAgency (Bakom) Muhammad Qodari has stated that he will promote better\ngovernment communication through closer cooperation with various\nministries, institutions, and the mass media.<\/p>\n
\u201cInsha\u2019Allah, I am very close with these media friends, and hopefully\nthis closeness will make the communication process better and even\nbetter,\u201d Qodari said at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n
Qodari said his new role as Head of Bakom RI is a significant trust\nbecause of the numerous government programmes under President Prabowo\nSubianto that need to be explained to the public, including the\nbackground and objectives of each policy implemented.<\/p>\n
According to him, these government programmes are fundamentally aimed\nat fulfilling the mandate of the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution,\nnamely protecting the entire Indonesian nation, advancing general\nwelfare, enlightening the nation\u2019s life, and participating in world\norder.<\/p>\n
He assessed that this major task requires collaboration with all\nministries and institutions as well as all stakeholders, particularly\nthe mass media, which has long been an important part of the public\ncommunication process.<\/p>\n
Qodari mentioned that he has close ties with the media community\nbecause he has long been involved in the communication world and knows\nmany press figures. He hopes that this closeness can make the government\ncommunication process run better.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis very large task must collaborate with various institutions,\nwith all ministries\/institutions. Insha\u2019Allah with all stakeholders,\nespecially with media friends,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Regarding future public communication strategies, Qodari said he does\nnot want to rush into steps because the current media landscape is very\ndifferent from 10 to 20 years ago.<\/p>\n
In addition to conventional mass media, he said, social media now\nalso plays a significant role, and some of them behave like the\npress.<\/p>\n
He said this condition presents its own challenges that need further\nconsideration in formulating government communication strategies.<\/p>\n
\u201cSocial media today also partly behaves like the press. But with\nregulations that may differ from those of the press friends, and at that\npoint, this is certainly a unique challenge, and what and how it will\nbe, of course, we will think about it going forward,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Qodari assessed that the biggest homework in government\ncommunication is not in the methods or the officials involved, but in\nthe magnitude of the task to explain President Prabowo\u2019s programmes,\nwhich are considered numerous, massive, fundamental, and introducing a\nnew paradigm.<\/p>\n
Therefore, Qodari stated that he will study the communication\nprocesses that have been running previously to optimise government\ncommunication going forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will learn from Mr Hasan Nasbi, from Mr Angga Raka, with Mrs\nMeutya, with all existing stakeholders because communication is actually\nin all ministries\/institutions in all parts. Insha\u2019Allah, later together\nwith friends, we will optimise our communication even more in the\nfuture,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Muhammad Qodari, who previously served as Head of the Presidential\nStaff, was officially inaugurated as Head of the Indonesian Government\nCommunication Agency (Bakom) RI, replacing Angga Raka Prabowo.<\/p>\n
President Prabowo Subianto directly led the inauguration ceremony at\nthe State Palace in Jakarta on Monday. Qodari stood before the President\naccompanied by a religious figure.<\/p>\n
