Artist, community holds joint exhibition<\/p>\n
YOGYAKARTA: Cemeti Art House on Jl. DI Panjaitan is to
\nhold an exhibition and an art performance that is a
\nresult of research on people's participation in artwork.<\/p>\n
Entitled Lintang Desa, the exhibition is the joint work of
\nartist Moelyono, Yayasan Seni Rupa Komunitas and the people of
\nKebonsari, Pacitan, East Java.<\/p>\n
The exhibition will present a lesungan performance, usually
\nput on during a traditional party held in a traditional
\ncommunity.<\/p>\n
What is unique about the performance is that it is prepared
\nvia a dialog between the artist and the participating
\ncommunity. The discussion includes the plot of the story, the
\nscenery, stage decoration and setting.<\/p>\n
According to Cemeti, such research on participatory
\naction is aimed at encouraging people to rediscover their local
\ncapacity and to reflect on it, in this case, it is on how the
\npeople can together join forces in the dynamics of life as
