Waisak 2570 BE\/2026 celebrations at Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya in\nBatam were held solemnly through an Art Evening themed \u2018Universal Love\u2019\non Sunday (31\/5) evening.<\/p>\n
The event, held at Jalan Bukit Beruntung in Sungai Panas, Batam Kota,\nprovided a platform for Buddhists and the community to celebrate Waisak\nthrough meaningful artistic performances.<\/p>\n
The programme began with an opening ceremony and performances of the\nnational anthem, Indonesia Raya, and the local song \u2018Batamku\u2019. The\natmosphere grew lively as participants showcased various acts, including\nsongs, dramas, and dances conveying messages of peace, brotherhood, and\nharmony.<\/p>\n
Each performance reflected the noble values of Waisak \u2013 love,\ntolerance, and compassion \u2013 with artistic presentations that effectively\ncommunicated these virtues to all segments of society.<\/p>\n
The Art Evening was attended by community leaders and local\nofficials. Batam City\u2019s Culture and Tourism Head, Ardiwinata,\nrepresented the city government.
