Arrested students freed in Bogor<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Four students, who were arrested Saturday for
\ndistributing copies of a speech by ousted leader of the
\nIndonesian Democratic Party Megawati Soekarnoputri in Bogor, were
\nreleased yesterday.<\/p>\n
A lawyer from Ampera Legal Aid Institute, Maradang Hasoloan
\nSinaga, said that the four -- members of the People's Democratic
\nAlliance (Aldera) -- were arrested Saturday when they protested
\nand distributed copies of the speech at Pasar Anyar together with
\n26 other students.<\/p>\n
He said police chased the students, who waved a banner
\nstating: "We are Megawati's success team, Aldera Bogor", through
\nPasar Anyar.<\/p>\n
The four students were identified as Herlan Antono, Wahyu and
\nRobert from Pakuan University and Abdi from Gunadarma University.<\/p>\n
Maradang said his clients could be charged under Article 154
\nof the Criminal Code which carries a maximum penalty of six years
\nin jail.<\/p>\n
Aldera and Indonesian Solidarity for Amien Rais and Mega
\n(Siaga) activists are to lodge a complaint with the National
\nCommission of Human Rights today about the arrest and
\ndisappearance of Aldera's leader, Pius Lustrilanang, he said.<\/p>\n
Pius reportedly disappeared Wednesday after paying a visit to
\nhis friend's mother at Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital in
\nCentral Jakarta. (ind)<\/p>",
