        "content": "<p>Meulaboh (ANTARA) - The Class II Non Immigration Checkpoint Office in\nMeulaboh, Aceh, has confirmed that LTM (62), a Malaysian foreign\nnational previously arrested on Wednesday (8\/4) in Lhok Gayo Village,\nBabahrot Subdistrict, Southwest Aceh Regency, Aceh, had married a local\nresident and had been residing in Aceh for a long time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on the examination results we conducted, LTM admitted that he\nhad married a local Aceh resident since they met several years ago in\nBatam, Riau Islands. He then came to Aceh and lived with her family,\u201d\nsaid the Head of the Class II Non TPI Meulaboh Immigration Office, Nicky\nAvry Muchelly, accompanied by Dedi, Head of the Intelligence and\nSecurity Section, and Samsul Bahri, Head of the Immigration Control\nSection, to reporters in Meulaboh on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>To the officers conducting the examination, LTM admitted that he had\nmarried his wife through a siri marriage, so their marriage was not\nofficially recorded with the population authorities in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>While residing in Southwest Aceh Regency, said Nicky, LTM was often\nasked for help by local residents because he had expertise in performing\ntraditional healing without charging fees to the community.<\/p>\n<p>However, while in Aceh, LTM claimed he was unaware that he had\nviolated his stay permit in Indonesia because he had exceeded the\nspecified time limit.<\/p>\n<p>LTM also admitted that he did not have money to pay the PNBP fine of\nRp1 million per day for the violation he had committed, in accordance\nwith the Immigration Law.<\/p>\n<p>Nicky explained that LTM was arrested by the Intelligence and\nSecurity Team of the Class II Non TPI Meulaboh Immigration Office along\nwith the Intelkam Unit of the Southwest Aceh Police Resort at his\nresidence in Lhok Gayo Village, Babahrot Subdistrict, Southwest Aceh\nRegency, during the Wirawaspada Operation.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, the individual was brought to the Class II Non TPI\nMeulaboh Immigration Office to undergo further examination.<\/p>\n<p>As of 9 April 2026 to date, the individual has been subjected to\ndetention measures and placed in the detention room at the Class II Non\nTPI Meulaboh Immigration Office for the purposes of examination and\nfurther processing in accordance with applicable laws and\nregulations.<\/p>\n<p>From the examination results by the officers, the individual has\ncommitted an immigration violation under Article 78 paragraph (3) in\nconjunction with Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law No.\u00a06 of 2011 on\nImmigration.<\/p>\n<p>Nicky said this foreign national violated his stay permit in\nIndonesia because he had resided\/stayed in Indonesia beyond the\nspecified time limit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe overstayed for 237 days,\u201d said Nicky.<\/p>\n<p>As regulated in immigration regulations, foreign nationals holding an\nexpired stay permit who remain in Indonesian territory for more than 60\ndays beyond the stay permit deadline are subject to administrative\nimmigration actions in the form of deportation and blacklisting.<\/p>\n<p>Nicky stated that the Class II Non TPI Meulaboh Immigration Office\nreaffirms its commitment to enforcing immigration law and maintaining\norder and security in the region through supervision of the presence and\nactivities of foreigners in Indonesia.<\/p>",
