Arpindo's executives<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The newly-established Association of Indonesia
\nRadio Paging Operators (Arpindo), which held its first conference
\nhere last week, will announce its executives next week.<\/p>\n
Committee chairman of the conference, Pong Prasetyo, told The
\nJakarta Post yesterday that the conference selected three
\ncandidates for the association's top executives, including Sukoyo
\nof PT Duta Pertiwi Santosa, Ady Soewondo of PT Motorollain
\nCorporation and Pong Prasetyo of PT Persada Komindo.<\/p>\n
Pong, who got the most votes for the chairmanship, said that
\nthe three candidates, respectively, will become chairman, vice
\nchairman and secretary general of the association.<\/p>\n
\"We have 15 days from March 31 to determine the executives of
\nthe association and coordinators of its local chapters,\" he said,
\nexpressing his hope that the names would be announced before
\nApril 14.<\/p>\n
\"We will afterwards hold a workshop to arrange Arpindo's
\nprograms,\" he said.<\/p>\n
The government expects the number of radio paging subscribers
\nto increase to one million by the end of this year, from some
\n300,000 at present, despite the fact that telephone lines still
\ndo not cover all the areas in the country.<\/p>\n
There are 74 radio paging operators in Indonesia, half of
\nwhich are located in Jakarta.(icn)<\/p>",
