        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister for Women\u2019s Empowerment and Child\nProtection (PPPA), Arifah Fauzi, emphasised that commitment and\ncollaboration among ministries and institutions are required for efforts\nto empower women through education to succeed effectively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe success of women\u2019s empowerment through education cannot be\nachieved by one party alone. Strong and sustainable collaboration from\nall stakeholders is needed,\u201d said Arifah Fauzi at the event titled\n\u201cLaunch of the Women\u2019s Empowerment through Education Month\u201d, in Jakarta\non Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>She also expressed thanks to the Minister of Basic and Secondary\nEducation, Abdul Mu\u2019ti, for initiating the event.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, education is the primary foundation for women\u2019s\nempowerment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEducation is not merely knowledge to gain access to knowledge, but\nalso builds self-confidence, expands life choices, and improves the\nquality of decision-making, both at the individual level and at the\nfamily and social levels,\u201d said Arifah Fauzi.<\/p>\n<p>She stated that the government has established gender mainstreaming\nas a national strategy in development.<\/p>\n<p>Gender mainstreaming ensures that women and men have equal access,\nparticipation, control, and benefits in all development processes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first is strengthening gender-responsive policies and planning.\nSecond, transforming curricula and teaching materials,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The third is creating a safe and inclusive educational environment.\nThe fourth is enhancing the capacity of educators and educational\npersonnel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the fifth is expanding access and participation for women,\nespecially in STEM fields,\u201d said Arifah Fauzi.<\/p>\n<p>She hopes that the \u201cLaunch of the Women\u2019s Empowerment through\nEducation Month\u201d event will become a major movement with an impact on\nwomen\u2019s empowerment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope this launch of the women\u2019s empowerment through education\nmonth becomes the beginning of a large-scale sustainable movement, a\nmovement that does not stop at ceremonies, but is realised in real\npolicy actions that are pro-women, as well as changes in societal\nperspectives,\u201d she said.<\/p>",
