        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The plan by Housing and Settlement Ministry\n(PKP) Minister Maruarar Sirait, known as Ara, to implement the \u2018One\nHouse, One Tree\u2019 concept has won support from housing developers.\nHowever, field observations show some residents of subsidised houses\nhave turned the fronts of their homes into kiosks or shops.<\/p>\n<p>Jaya Andriliwan Mohammad, alias Andre Bangsawan, the Chairman of the\nCentral Board of the National Alliance of Housing Developers (Ketum DPP\nAppernas), said the tree-planting program in every house is positive for\nreducing heat in residential areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018For us it\u2019s good. First, the heat is incredibly high. So, with trees\nin front,\u2019 he told Kompas.com after meeting Ara with three other\ndeveloper associations at the PKP Ministry office in Jakarta, Monday (19\nMay 2026).<\/p>\n<p>He said the concept is still in the socialisation stage for\ndevelopers. He added that the issue was also discussed in a meeting with\nAra. According to him, developers expressed various inputs regarding the\nimplementation of the program. \u2018We talked about it. And the Minister was\nextraordinary, giving us each opinions, even though there were\ndifferences,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, Andre assured developers will carry out the \u2018One House,\nOne Tree\u2019 program in line with government directives. \u2018The solution is\nwe will implement it. One house, one tree. Whether planted in front or\nat the back,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n<p>This idea emerged when Ara attended the Million Tree planting event\norganized by Real Estate Indonesia (REI) in Kota Baru Bandar Negara\n(KBN), Lampung, on Friday (8 May 2026).<\/p>\n<p>Ara is also preparing a new policy obliging every house to have a\ntree in its front area. The rule is being prepared as part of efforts to\npromote greening through the housing sector. The plan is part of\ngovernment support for the tree-planting movement initiated by property\ndevelopers.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Gerindra politician, the policy is needed so housing\ndevelopment can proceed while maintaining environmental balance and\necosystem conservation.<\/p>",
