This condition has<br>\nbeen going on for a long time, but up to now no action has been<br>\ntaken by the local authorities.<\/p>\n<p>The river is in fact very useful in at least two ways: as a<br>\nwashing place for the villagers, and for irrigating the rice<br>\nfields lying on both sides of the river.<\/p>\n<p>The river water turns blackish and emits pungent smells and<br>\ncauses skin irritations, which is very dangerous to our health.
