This adjustment was announced on Apple\u2019s official\nDeveloper website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEffective 15 March 2026, there will be changes to the commission\nrates applicable to the App Store in China for iOS and iPadOS,\u201d Apple\nstated.<\/p>\n<p>For standard Apple in-app purchase transactions and paid app\ntransactions, the new commission rate is set at 25 per cent, down from\nthe previous 30 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>The in-app transaction fees for developers enrolled in Apple\u2019s small\nbusiness programme and \u201cmini apps\u201d partners will also be reduced to 12\nper cent from the previous 15 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>This commission discount is described as a breakthrough for app\ndevelopers in China, including giants in the \u201csuper-app\u201d sector, such as\nTencent and ByteDance (parent of TikTok\/Douyin), which host numerous\nsmall platforms created by third-party developers.<\/p>\n<p>This fee reduction is estimated to save more than 6 billion yuan\n(approximately \u00a31.2 billion), according to Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>Citing CNBC, Apple stated that the rate change is the result of\n\u201cdiscussions with Chinese regulators\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Apple was reported to have been in dialogue with China\u2019s\nMinistry of Industry and Information Technology, as well as several\nother agencies.
