Jakarta (ANTARA) – Apple is reportedly set to expand Korean-language
support for Siri, its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered digital
assistant, from October 2026. The move is part of the development of AI
services intended to provide more context-aware interactions integrated
with users’ devices.

South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported on Wednesday (21 October),
citing industry sources, that users in South Korea will soon be able to
use AI-powered Siri in Korean.

The expansion follows the launch last September of the latest beta
version of Siri in English.

One highlighted capability is searching for information based on
users’ activity history. For example, users could ask Siri to find a
food recipe they had encountered while travelling.

AI-powered Siri will also feature visual intelligence, enabling the
system to understand visual content and process multimodal
information.

The feature will be available through Apple devices, including the
iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro.

Technologically, AI-powered Siri is powered by Google’s Gemini
artificial intelligence models. Despite using this technology, Apple
says the service will continue to operate within the company’s security
framework.

Apple also says data used for AI processing will be deleted as soon
as it is no longer needed to generate a response.

The report, however, did not provide a specific availability schedule
or a list of devices that will support the service in South Korea.
",
