        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2014 Investment and Downstreaming Minister\/Head of the\nInvestment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani stated that leading\nAmerican technology company Apple has committed to increasing its\ninvestment value in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Rosan said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the commitment was conveyed by\nApple based on communications conducted after the company committed to\nbuilding an AirTag production facility in Batam.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can see that Apple\u2019s investment, based on our communications with\nthem, will increase. It will increase,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Rosan explained that, following up on this matter, the institution he\nleads has established communications with three Apple vendors to invest\nin the country.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, he noted that Chinese company Huayou is known to be one\nof the component suppliers for Apple products. Accordingly, his office\nhas also requested that the company intensively focus its production in\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo later, Indonesia will also be able to supply Apple with\ncomponents, and these will be exempted from tariffs,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Rosan had stated that an Apple vendor factory has begun\nconstruction in Batam, where the vendor will supply 65 per cent of the\nworld\u2019s AirTag requirements. According to him, the investment is valued\nat US$1 billion, equivalent to approximately Rp16 trillion, with the\npotential to create up to 2,000 jobs. The investment will continue to be\nencouraged until it reaches US$10 billion. The vendor factory is\ntargeted for completion in early 2026.<\/p>",
